Aiko Cunanan is a beautiful model, travel and fashion blogger from Seattle. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
When I was 6 years old my aunt took me to the mall where there was a fashion show and it was my first time seeing “models”. I was so intrigued by them and from that moment I knew I wanted to be one.
How were you discovered?
When I turned 18, I started auditioning and signed with my first talent agency. My first breakthrough was a national commercial for T-Mobile.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
It would probably have to be my first music video just a couple weeks after I moved to Los Angeles. I was casted as a model for “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift. It was my first time seeing so many celebrities including Selena Gomez and Zendaya in one room.
How would you define your personal style?
Feminine, chic and casual. I love being in skirts and sneakers!
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up in Seattle. Mostly everyone there dressed comfortably- I’d say my love of sneakers never went away because of my home town!
Who is your style icon and why?
JULIE SARIÑANA from Sincerely Jules because I love her mix of feminine, casual and comfy styles. All of her outfits are suitable for everyday wear.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
Too many to choose!
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
Don’t wait until you’re ready to start. Start right now! Work extremely hard and get your face out there.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
Sometimes! I use lightroom and photoshop.
We would like to express our gratitude to Aiko Cunanan for this great interview.
