I hope you’ll enjoy the interview with Allie Valentine;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
Getting to meet people and hear their experiences, bonding with likeminded individuals and having the opportunity to create art without limits
How were you discovered?
It’s a weird story!
When I was 17 I was asked by a then well known photographer to shoot and me being 17 and very insecure with myself, I passed. The same photographer asked me to shoot again on my 18th birthday and I passed again thinking maybe he’s just some weirdo.
Then another photographer; Rick Basaldua (@rickbas9) also asked me to shoot and I passed but thought, if multiple people are asking me to…maybe I shouldn’t knock it till I try it. So I decided that the next person to ask me to shoot I would try it!
So the next person who asked me was Rick! We met up and got it rolling right away and once I started coming out with the modeling content from Rick I was getting asked by tons of photographers to shoot and it was crazy!
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
I did fetish modeling & videos with a old friend of mine sometime last year that me and a lot of people really enjoyed.
How would you define your personal style?
Comfy Casual. I love being warm and comfortable.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I moved a lot growing up, I don’t think I stayed in one place longer than a year. I never really had a chance to plant roots anywhere but my family was always with me so most of my style was influenced by my mom and Tias
Who is your style icon and why?
I don’t have any one specific style Icon, I wear whatever I want! If it fits and I feel good in it I’ll rock it 🙌🏻
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
Ahhh that’s so hard…
If we’re talking no editing just straight shooting Rick Basaldua,
If we’re talking professionally edited Rachel Mehan (@Ladymehanphoto on Instagram)
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
Have fun and don’t quit more than anything! One thing my Tia Brandi told me when I was dealing with hate from my modeling was “make like a duck and let the water roll off your back” (The water being the hate people were sending me). People who hate on other people are unhappy with themselves so they will do what they can to bring you down to their level. You’re doing it right, keep it up💕
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
I don’t really have a lot of time to sit and edit my own photos so I usually just post whatever is sent to me edited or not! Ill edit out the occasional zit with facetune but only if it’s really big and noticeable, pimples don’t really look professional in my opinion.
We would like to express our gratitude to Allie Valentine for this great interview.
