Angie Sanchez is a beautiful model and mindfulness & lifestyle blogger from Los Angeles. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
Looking through magazines as a little girl. What attracted me the most were happy, uplifting, vibrant photos of woman and young ladies having fun and enjoying life.
How were you discovered?
Several different ways. As a kid I looked into several agencies but wasn’t ready to devote time to the lifestyle of auditioning. The second time was at a nightclub where I met a manager and had a very insightful meeting with an agent three days later. I learned the value of having training and experience. After taking some acting classes and booking modeling jobs on my own, I went to an open call with a very well known agency in LA and that’s where I finally got serious about the game.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
OMG! This just happened! I was turned into Medusa for the Getty Villa. The ad is running all over LA right now. It’s pretty fascinating to see myself as Medusa.
How would you define your personal style?
Clean, Fresh, Vibrant, Sun-kissed, Strong and Feminine.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
Los Angeles, CA. Everyone is trying to be someone in Los Angeles and I think that being in the mist of it I learned not to care too much about what people thought, especially as a native Angelino. I grew up surfing and having a beach girl vibe. As you can imagine that’s sandals with a tee and shorts. Very simple.
Who is your style icon and why?
Chanel. Simple, Elegant and Timeless.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
I love Russell James, who is the photographer for Victoria Secret everything. I had a delight to meet him and just loved how Fatherly and kind he is. I’ve also had the honor to work with a lot of talented photographers whom I consider friends today.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
Don’t let anything stop you. The industry has changed so much the last few years there is absolutely no reason not to model if that is something you want to pursue. Age, weight, height, gender, skin condition, etc. is not a factor these days. I feel as though it’s all about a vibe so whatever you are comfortable with and owning that will open doors you knock on. Stay true to you and do all things with integrity.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
It’s depends on who I work with but I do edit a lot of my own photos. I actually use several apps such as Snapseed, VSCO and Darkroom.
We would like to express our gratitude to Angie Sanchez for this great interview.
