Anne Aggenbacht is a South African model at @20modelmanagement. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
I fell in love with modelling at the age of 7 when I went to go see a fashion show. I loved how gracefully the models walked showing off the beautiful garments.
How were you discovered?
Being ‘discovered’ was definitely not instantaneously. I signed to a kids agency when I was 13 and started working my way up in the fashion industry. Finally, I signed to my agency, Twenty Model Management, at the age of 18 and has been working ever since.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
A few months ago I did a shoot with photographer Jacques Weyers. It was located in Bo-Kaap in Cape Town. The shoot was high fashion, which is by far my favourite category of modelling. I loved being able to try unique poses that you don’t often see in magazines.
How would you define your personal style?
Artsy and authentic, yet still classy and timeless..
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up in Jeffreys Bay. The little beach town definitely gave my style a boho/beachy edge.
Who is your style icon and why?
Shay Mitchell without a doubt. She can effortlessly pull off any style. I love her signature bold lips and sunglasses!
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
Camilla Akrans. Her work has a moody feel to it that I really like. It would be amazing to work with her in the future!
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
Don’t give up. To be a model takes a lot of patience, it is very rare that a model becomes famous overnight. It’s a process, stay motivated and don’t lose hope.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
I do edit the photos I take. I mainly use VSCO and Facetune.
We would like to express our gratitude to Anne Aggenbacht for this great interview.
