Brian is a great photographer from Chicago. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;

How did you fall in love with photography?

My Grandfather was a professional photographer/ videographer and runned his business doing just that with his family and one day I got invloved and been doing it ever since. It’s my way of communicating to this tech-advanced generation.

How important is having a unique style as a photographer? How would you describe your style?

In order to be one of the greats you have to learn from the greats. You have to learn and admire their work. it helps you develop your own eye for photography. My style? I do portrait & street photography. Its more of a moody type vibe I go for in my shots to further enhance my deeper message to tell the world.

Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?

I grew up in Chicago. Not in the best of areas for it was in the south side where people would get killed left and right. It wasn’t until I had the oportunity of my life to move out of that area and start a brand new life in a well established town where i would continue my education. But, I always been in the city of down town chicago admiring the buildings and life around me and it wasn’t till sophmore year in highschool when i bought my first Nikon camera and started creating photos & inspiring others and so forth.

What advice would you give to aspiring photographers out there?

Ask yourself what is your goal in doing what you do. Go out into the world and live every day to the fullest and capture the momments in the world that stand out to you. Learn from others and imagine the photos you want to create before it’s taken. Strive to make it happen. Be different but most of all Be You! We are all different and we all have a unique style. its just the matter of realizing it and improving everyday and never giving up on what you want out of doing it.

Have you ever run out of ideas?

No, when it comes to creativity and using your enviroment to your advantage it comes natural. Every day is different and brings different opportunities. Meaning I have plenty to choose from when I go out to shoot. I Visualize what I want and I try to recreate it. “Eye of Photography”.

How do you find places and models for your shootings?

I just explore and find places as I travel. I usually just email or Dm models that I may find either on social media or off the streets.

What’s the one piece of photo gear you couldn’t live without?

To be honest it’s extra batteries for the camera and my tripods .

Do you edit your photos? If yes, which programs do you use?

Yes, I edit all my photos on lightroom. I’m currently getting familiar with photoshop so, more to come with that.
