Che Hojas is an illustrator, vlogger and a model from Argentina. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
I actually consider my self photographer and model. I fell in love with modeling when I had my first photoshoot as a teenager, I loved the sensation, how it made me feel and the challenge to get out of my comfort zone and be exposed.
How were you discovered?
Mostly instagram now.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
One of the most interesting was actually one I did with a friend who needed ir for a university project and we did this photoshoot crying with faded makeup.
How would you define your personal style?
Uhhh… mostly changing haha. Really colorful and authentic.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
This is a hard question for me haha. I was born in Argentina, then moved to Chile and now living in New York. And my mother is Cuban. So… I think the fact of not having actually roots was the freedom that influenced my sense of style.
Who is your style icon and why?
I don’t have ONE style icon. I honestly get inspired from everywhere! Even not only people, sometimes color palettes, drawings, designs, books, images, everything can be a great inspiration!
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
Don’t have one either. I fall in love with photographs, and they might be from different authors.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
That today you don’t need to wait to be discovered or go to an agency, you can make it yourself in social media and get the exposure you need to actually be hired as a model. This is something I didn’t have in my younger days.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
I do Edit my own photos. Until recently I edited them on vsco cam. But now I’m studying graphic design at parsons, so I started to use photoshop like my main editing program.
