Danielle Copperman is an English model and the founder of @QnolaUK. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
I was scouted as a model at the age of 16 and it has been my main career ever since. I love the creativity of the industry and how each day is different.
How were you discovered?
At a fashion show just a few days before my 16th birthday
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
the dolce and gabbana millenials catwalk show in 2017 was amazing and the collection was by far one of the most interesting and exciting i’ve modelled. every shoot i do is interesting in its own special ways.
How would you define your personal style?
chilled, chic, minimal, fresh, clean, simplistic and toned down.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up in Bath. My roots have influenced many aspects of my life, but in terms of style, they have influenced my casual and relaxed style. i always shopped in charity shops or vintage markets growing up in Bath and this gave me a really unique and diverse wardrobe, most of which i still have. i grew up in the countryside, so lived in comfortable and baggy clothes, and have always been a major tomboy. i think climbing the haystacks and playing hopscotch in the lanes has influenced my kind of un-done / thrown-on attitude to how i dress.
Who is your style icon and why?
i have many. a lot of models from the 60s, 70s and 80s as they seemed to have a really unique sense of style and each wore it with confidence and really made it work for them. modern day, i love alexa chung’s balance of daytime casual and her use of vintage designs and patterns, and then the chicer yet still casual evening looks. she never overdoes it but she always gets it right. there is something about someone who really doesn’t try, but just knows what they like and makes it work for them.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
i can’t answer that. i’ve worked with so many amazing photographers over the years. one i would love to work with is cameron hammond – his beach shots are always so beautiful and effortless.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
be confident, embrace your uniqueness, dont compare yourself to others too much, and don’t take unsuccessful castings or lack of jobs to heart.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
yes, it varies. i alternate between using lightroom, after light, snapseed, VSCO and also sometimes just play around with Instagram’s filters and effects
