How did you fall in love with photography?
When I first realized that I can capture a moment in time with a photo which to me, felt like stopping time.
How important is having a unique style as a photographer? How would you describe your style?
I like spontaneous shots where you surprise a moment, an expression, maybe a nice landscape or a smile but all natural, no 3h preps for me.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up in what was communist Romania back then so we had very few colors around us – the buildings were grey, people´s clothes were dark so I was influenced by this in a sense that I want as much color as possible around me.
What advice would you give to aspiring photographers out there?
That it doesn´t matter if you photograph the same thing as everybody else, as long as you capture what its essence is it to you. You don´t need to go crazy looking for impossible shots, it´s all about your angle and capturing what something says to you.
Have you ever run out of ideas?
Yes, many times. I take a pause and start when I feel more inspired.
How do you find places and models for your shootings?
My models are the people around me and as for places, it can be anything as long as it says something to me.
What’s the one piece of photo gear you couldn’t live without?
My camera 🙂
