Filippo Gori is a great model from Florence. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
I will be honest, I have never fallen in love for fashion, despite this I really like working in fashion, I love shooting and working with other guys, I started this job at 18, when many agencies in Milan asked me to go steadily in the capital of fashion. I really understood that this could be a valid job for me. But fashion It’s a complicate world
How were you discovered?
A dear friend of my aunt was the director of an agency, she already wanted me when I was 11, my only small obstacle to that age, rightly so, was my father, completely against it. My mother instead, in love with her only son, would have already pushed me to that age, obviously without neglecting my studies. 7 years later, as soon as I got older, I decided to enter in the agency and sign my first contract and start working. Now after 5 years I am in Milan, independent, living on this work, with my father who has completely changed his mind, satisfied and proud
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
Sure my first work,when i arrived in Milan,later of 1 week,i shot a campaign for Zara. I was always to have shopping there, and now can i see me on the wall?! When i started that work, I had no idea of all of that,It was one of my first experiences. However, I shot for many important brands, in particular Guess, Moncler, Patrizia Pepe, Hogan, Timberland, Lardini.
How would you define your personal style?
I do not have a precise style, maybe in the afternoon I could go out in shorts and a tank top with hat pulled back, and in the evening I dress elegantly with combed hair. I like to vary
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I come from a very simple city, certainly not from a city where fashion is born, I’m very wild for this too, it’s not casual that I told you that on a summer afternoon you could find me walking in the streets of Milan in the Mohican style or boy at the beach. However, I like to treat myself, I like to dress and match well, always with maximum simplicity
Who is your style icon and why?
I’ve not an icon, I’m real. I think that everyone has to be unique in his choices and style.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
if you have the right rents, don t be ashamed to throw yourself and introduce yourself to some agency. Leave the comments maybe envious of some of your classmate, if you have the opportunity do well to exploit it. I think that everyone should exploit their own qualities, without shame or thoughts of the judgments of others.
be humble and look for a serious agency, not those who ask you for money to enter in their agency, they are the ones who have to invest in you, not in the other way. Further advice that I can give, continue to study, this work can not last for a lifetime, can give excellent guarantees and excellent earnings, but also look at the future.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
