Jay is a traveller and lifestyle photographer from Spain. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;

How did you fall in love with photography?

Since I was a child I liked to capture every moment of my life, when I was traveling, when I went out with my friends and many other things, I fell in love with photography when I discovered that I could capture every moment that can not be seen at first sight and that Time goes away memories

How important is having a unique style as a photographer? How would you describe your style?

It is very important that each photographer has his own style because that is where the magic of photography is when several people can capture a moment in different ways each one but leaving incredible pieces of art.
I could describe my style as a landscaper and minimalist I try not to capture the perfection I prefer to capture the essence of each place I visit.

Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?

I grew the first 8 years of my life in Spain, then I went to live in Venezuela where I developed my great passion for photography where I met other places, other people and beautiful environments and my beloved Caribbean, my mix of roots influenced my life a lot. growth because in Europe I grew up knowing art, history and fashion and in america my love for the sea grew, hot places, tropical colors and Latin essence.

What advice would you give to aspiring photographers out there?

I advise you to always try to be very creative as I believe that creativity and imagination is essential in photography in order to convert simple places into incredible ones.

Have you ever run out of ideas?

I do not remember having run out of ideas. I have always been very creative and my mind has never stopped inventing incredible things.

How do you find places and models for your shootings?

I am a person who loves traveling. I usually travel through many countries and I almost always go to fantastic countries and it is not difficult for me to choose a location for photos since most of them are perfect and regarding models 90% of my friends are models then the Most of the time I travel with them and we make incredible photos.

What’s the one piece of photo gear you couldn’t live without?

I feel that I could not live without my lens is the heart of my camera.

Do you edit your photos? If yes, which programs do you use?

I always edit my photos and use depending on the type of photo if it is mobile use vsco and afterlight
