How did you fall in love with photography?
Its amazing to see the beauty God has created! Living in Washington State offers so many opportunities to see that beauty! From Mount Rainer to the Olympic Peninsula it was hard to not find a beautiful space. I would get out my iPhone and start snapping. I started to develop a passion behind the adventure and learning how to do it better and better! Seeing the beautiful places around me is what captivated me and from there I fell in love with photography!
How important is having a unique style as a photographer? How would you describe your style?
Everyone has a uniques style. Everyone sees a moment a different way. The way my buddy captures a sunset is going to be much different then how I will capture it. Its how YOU see it. Developing your craft your way. Be inspired and motivated by the people around you to not capture what they capture but to capture whatever it is the best you can. My style is organic to me.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up in Tacoma, Washington! Funnily enough my roots have nothing to do with the photos I take but the interactions I have with the people I get to meet. My family has creatives in it but I would say I am more of a people person and business man then a photographer. Anyone that knows me knows that! Photos are an expression of me!
What advice would you give to aspiring photographers out there?
Just dont give up. You have a world of moments out there that need to be captured! Fall in love with what moves you and tell that story! The world needs your eye. The world needs to see your moments!
Have you ever run out of ideas?
No, everyday is a new day!
How do you find places and models for your shootings?
Through friends and Social Media. If I see a location that would be a dream come true location then I put it on my list and aim in my lifetime to get there! Models can be anyone. Start with friends and you’ll never know who you’ll meet!
What’s the one piece of photo gear you couldn’t live without?
My batteries. Cant turn the camera on without them!
Do you edit your photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
I do. On Lightroom and on my phone via VSCO App.
