Lana Popkova is a model, journalist and financial analyst from Moscow. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
It is such a funny story) My main work is connected with finance and one day my colleague decided to become a photographer so she needed a model. We made some photoshoots, placed them in social medias and they turned out to become popular. After that I started to have offers as a photo model.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
With snake. It was outstanding photoshoot , but I was so afraid of snakes, so It was difficult to look pacific. And in the end we turned out to become practically friends with by colleague-snake Kesha.
How would you define your personal style?
Classic with notes of epatage
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I was born and live in Moscow. My mom always told me that it”s better people to say:”What an interesting person” than “ What an interesting dress”. It’s important for cloth only to complement yourself as a personality not to get all attention from yourself as a person. Education always took important part in my life and my main work is connected with finance so that’s why I prefer a classic style but I also work as a journalist and model so I like to epatage people. So I can call my style as Classic with notes of epatage.
Who is your style icon and why?
My mom and russian actress Anna Mikhailovskaya, because they have their own style than just make them outstanding!
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
I am so thankful to all the photographers I worked with! Great thanks to Diana Kot (my colleague).
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
Be yourself and follow your dream no matter what the others say!
