Mitchell Eason is a model, World traveller, also, options trader and investor from Philadelphia. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
I fell in love with both modeling and photography a few years ago after I noticed that I see the world differently than most.
I love trying to capture a moment whether I am behind the camera or in front of it. I love creating content to share with the world in order to give sight into what the photo or video is portraying. Wheather it’s some form of inspiration, feelings, or emotions, I love creating and capturing memories. I love making my business, me. A personal brand.
How were you discovered?
My neighbour was a scout and didn’t meet his quota one month and asked me and my brother to go to this meeting for the agency he worked at just so he could meet his goal. We agreed and went to the meeting. Out of hundreds of people, they particularly liked my brother and I. So they set up a test shoot right here in Philadelphia for the both of us. After getting those pictures, they had been sent and seen by a lot of agencies in NYC and were getting phone calls from different agencies as to when we could come in and meet and shoot.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
Shooting on a rooftop in NYC in the winter time. I was doing a photo shoot in just boxers on a windy rooftop when it was 20 degrees outside. The pictures turned out amazing but it was definitely an interesting shoot trying not to shiver!
How would you define your personal style?
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I was born and raised in Philadelphia. Yes, I grew up where I had easy access to the city life, yet some of my family lived in the countryside of PA where horse and buggies were still the main use of transportation. I also loved to travel. I learned that I can connect and adapt to all walks of life and picked up on various skills and styles from all different types of cultures.
Who is your style icon and why?
Right now Jay Alvarrez. He posts similar content as to what I create and is deeply in touch with himself. He travels the world and creates some of the most epic content and inspires others. I do the same, just on a smaller scale as of right now.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
Jay Alvarrez is a model and photographer and his shots are so cinamatic. His shots are different and unique. They are all so clean and crisp yet each picture/video tells a heart touching story with no words.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
Leverage social media. Instagram, facebook, tumbler, vsco, etc. are some of the most powerful tools out there that can get your work and pictures infront of the right people. Facebook has over 2 billion users alone, instaram is over 800 million users, so at the click of a button you have access to reach billions of people.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
Yes, most of the time I use Lightroom
