Nichole Kennedy is a beautiful model from Alaska. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
It has always been my dream to become a model. I grew up in Alaska watching ANTM visioning my life for when I’d get discovered and become part of the fashion world; A world where everyone is equal and get to express themselves so freely
How were you discovered?
I got myself to Los Angeles at the end of 2016 & created a modeling IG the same week. I had no plan. I just knew I needed to get to LA to chase my dream of modeling. I had a friend that introduced me to Arsenic TV my second day living in California & I instantly became part of the creative family.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
One of the most interesting shoots that I’ve been in would be traveling to Mexico for a month with a group of models for Arsenic ( some were my close friends others we had never met). We lived together for a month doing photoshoots and traveling around Mexico City. It was a moment in my career that really woke me up to the potential for growth that I and my fellow models have been truly blessed with.
How would you define your personal style?
My style is all over the place! I go from TomBoy/Sporty Spice to GirlNextDoor/Fashion Queen lol. I take pride in not falling into one category.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up in Eagle River, Alaska. My roots has for sure set in my TomBoy/Sporty Spice style. I grew up playing outside 24/7 climbing trees, camping, fishing. My dads favorite thing to tell me “Nichole its not a fashion show” lol. Even if I was going out to chop wood I was making sure my fit looked great.
Who is your style icon and why?
Its hard to just name one.. I love the way Bella, Gigi, Haley, & Kendal have such an effortless swag about them. Every outfit they rock is killer.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
Russell James is one of my all time favorites. He does a amazing job at capturing the life and energy in his subjects!
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
BE YOURSELF. Know what you want; ask yourself WHY do you want to be a model. Put YOUR PERSONAL BRAND FIRST! Social media has made so much possible. Even though this means there is a hire success rate in chasing your dreams, it also means theres more distractions than ever before! So make sure your WHY is strong & let that be what drives you forward! Remember this platform you are developing is a voice for yourself, an opportunity for you to leave an impact on the world. Its your legacy, treat it as such beauties <3
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
Sometimes. It really depends on if the photographer edits their own images or not. Typically they edit their own so I don’t do anything else to them as I don’t like to change the image!
However I do edit photos and videos as I do camera work as well. When editing my images I use lightroom and photoshop or a quick edit with the easy edit systems on iphone or ig.
We would like to express our gratitude to Nichole Kennedy for this great interview.
