Noël Alvarenga is a great photographer and a Lightroom master from Los Angeles, CA. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;

How did you fall in love with photography?

I began at the age of 15 with a 2.0mp Nikon Coolpix camera. That was 17 years ago and I’ve been capturing my life and the people I find myself adventuring with ever since.

How important is having a unique style as a photographer? How would you describe your style?

It’s important that you do whatever it is that you love. That’s where a style will stem from. For me, I love being in nature with goddesses. I grew up with a single mother so I’ve always been a champion for women even though I’m a male. Earth and women bring a balance to all.

Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?

I was born & raised in Los Angeles, California. Came to this world in 1986 and my roots have influenced my style as mentioned above. I grew up with a single mother and have always had powerful, impactful, careless women around me. Their beauty and the nature of beauty is what I always try to capture. I keep my photographs with an anonymity of the individuals that I capture. Beauty, for me, is a moment in time with special people in beautiful places. Not necessarily how ‘gorgeous’ the model is.

What advice would you give to aspiring photographers out there?

Be true to yourself. Shoot what you want to because you love it. Not because you’re trying to be ‘instafamous’ or something else of that nature. True art is a reflection of what you wish to showcase and share with the world because it resonates within you.

Have you ever run out of ideas?

There is beauty all over the earth & women to explore it with. So, no.

How do you find places and models for your shootings?

I just travel the world and the people find me and there is always nature wherever. I put all my trust into the universe. And since I don’t care whether my models are ‘gorgeous’ or ‘popular’, I will shoot with any women who has a beautiful outlook at life and wishes to explore mother earth.

What’s the one piece of photo gear you couldn’t live without?

20mm. 1.8 lens. It’s my go to.

Do you edit your photos? If yes, which programs do you use?

I do edit my photos and I do it all just in Lightroom. I have made my presets, the very same ones I use on my photographs available online too.
