Paul Sydow is a Berlin based photographer who loves Adobe Lightroom!
I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with photography?
I picked up the old camera of my Dad and took it with me on a hike and took my first pictures. I instantly fell in love with it!
How important is having a unique style as a photographer? How would you describe your style?
I think it is very important to separate yourself from other photographers by combining different styles and elements! I think my style is always highly influenced by my surroundings and since I am surrounded by architecture most of the time, you can see that in my work.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up in Berlin and for the first years it was the only thing I was shooting! It really taught me to always search for a new perspective and that there can be a good spot behind anything!
What advice would you give to aspiring photographers out there?
Do not let Likes on Instagram tell you what a good pictures is! Also never give up and always try new styles and work with as many people as you can and try to understand their story!
Have you ever run out of ideas?
Not really. Sometimes I run out of time to work on all ideas at the same time 😀
How do you find places and models for your shootings?
Sometimes with a lot research but often times just randomly while walking through the city.
What’s the one piece of photo gear you couldn’t live without?
Samyang 14mm 2.8 for sure!
Do you edit your photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
I always stick to Lightroom and Photoshop.
We would like to express our gratitude to Paul Sydow for this great interview.
