Paula Maria is a great model based in Finland. She is also a plant based traveller, YouTuber and blogger. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
My mom was a model and I have always been interested in fashion and beauty. I feel comfortable to be in front of the camera and the work gives you an amazing energy and every day is different and exciting.
How were you discovered?
Through the small city in Finland. I did my first catwalk straight away in that day for a very well known designer in Finland. We had a five minutes catwalk practise and that’s it. That was my luckiest day ever!
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
In Indonesia with the hair specialist company from China. We had a huge hairstyle with all kind of lights and accessories, they even coloured my hair into purple and also ruined it after the treatment. My hair dried out so bad and needed so many treatments to have my hair back to normal.
How would you define your personal style?
Classy but with a lot of attitudes!
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
In Finland, which is giving me the idea that less is more.
Who is your style icon and why?
I don’t have just an only one to follow up. There is so many beautiful characters in this world where you can be influenced. I like to do my own thing and also being inspired from other girls styles.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
Russel James is one of the photographers who can bring the sexiness from the models but really classy way!
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
Be yourself. Never stop dreaming! If you work hard you will reach the dreams. Listen and take advice, learn things from others but get your own direction.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
Yes, and sometimes my boyfriend Sug-Sean. I’m using Lightroom.
