Reiko Mcnish Sato is a a great model from Tokyo. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
I didn’t like it that much until I started getting so many offers but I’ll never forget the feeling when I got featured on a magazine for the very first time!
How were you discovered?
I was working at abercrombie and Fitch in Tokyo and got scouted!
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
Bikinis in cold.. or jackets in summer 🙂 But last year I flew to LA with Japan crew of Puma and did shooting with so many talented stars from all over the world it was amazing!
How would you define your personal style?
Go hard or go home;)
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
Born in Tokyo, raised in the country side of Canada & Tokyo. After coming back to Japan, as a Japanese, I knew I was different from others in terms of how I think and feel because my perspectives were changed due to the period I stayed in Canada. That didn’t bring me down tho, it taught me how important it is to not be influenced by others and be who you are with your unique style.
Who is your style icon and why?
Helen Owen, i got to know her through this photographer but beautiful. Inside out 100%, happily married, and just goals life she has 🙂
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
Rogues Photo, love his art collection but there are def tons of talented photographers out there I see on IG.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
Keep up with your style & don’t blend in!
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
VSCO only, I’m a big fan.
