Samantha Staynings is a stunning model, actress and explorer from the US. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
I fell in love with modeling by creating images made with the thoughts, ideas, and creatives aspects of an entire team working together.
How were you discovered?
I was discovered by a modeling competition called Pro Scouts that came to my home town.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
One of the most interesting shoots I have done is a beauty Chinese New Year shoot for L’Officiel Thailand.
How would you define your personal style?
My personal style is more beauty orientated. However, my social media (example: Instagram) is very street style and photography orientated.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up in a suburban city in the USA. I am half chinese half english, and born/raised in the USA. With these three different cultural aspects in my upbringing, I was able to look at the world with a more global perspective.
Who is your style icon and why?
I don’t particularly have a style icon as I enjoy to create my own style and uniqueness. I always enjoy models/celebrities who have strong personalities and aren’t afraid to show it or voice out.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
One of my favorite photographers to work with is Justin Lim @hurtingbombz He is wonderful to shoot with and also has a very good eye for hidden spots for the perfect shot.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
I would definitely advice them to listen to advice, yet also remain strong in your own opinions. Listen to all advice with a grain of salt.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
Occasionally yes. I use Lightroom and Snapseed.
