Sarah Anne is a Canada based model who are – in her own words – extremely unfashionable. – we really don’t think so – She said “trying to figure out what to wear makes me really anxious so I’m either overdressed or totally underdressed”.

How did you fall in love with modeling?
Well I started as a hairstylist and kind of got thrown into it. It wasn’t until I had a photographer come to Canada to work with me that I saw a new side of myself in almost every photo. Growing up I was never exactly pretty but being seen through The eyes of someone else really give you a new appreciation for the things you over look.
How were you discovered?
That’s a really great question I often ask myself.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
Oh jeez about 2 or so years ago I went roof topping and shot naked ontop of skyscrapers downtown Toronto, then we smoke bombed the Toronto sign as city hall and I thought I was about to be arrested. Talk about exciting.
How would you define your personal style?
Style? I’m extremely unfashionable, I guess that’s part of the reason I shoot nude. Trying to figure out what to wear makes me really anxious so I’m either overdressed or totally underdressed.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up all over Canada, it really changed how I viewed the world because it gave me the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life. The boots I wear are made on the native reserve because of the times in lived in white horse, the overall I love remind me of the artists and fisherman down in Victoria or St.johns. I find that it’s the little things that seep into my style choices.
Who is your style icon and why?
Audrey Hepburn, because she is my obsession.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
Oh Lord, I don’t even know how I could answer this there are so many.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
To be effective in front of the camera doesn’t require a beautiful face but a beautiful emotion to convey. Anyone can take a pretty picture but not everyone can make you feel something.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
Not a chance, I always leave the editing to the photographers.
