Shantih Gidron is a model, beauty blogger, Journalist and content creator from Jerusalem, Israel. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
I started working with designers when I was 18, and since I remember myself, cameras were always something interesting for me. I worked a lot learning the right angels that suit my body type as I am not as high or as thin as a runway model. I love the fact that in 2018 people are looking for different kinds of beauty, and when you rock a certain look, you will work.
How were you discovered?
I can’t really say I was discovered, I just started working. My first job was for a young Israeli designer and I love those photos till this day.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
I shot an editorial at the beach in mid February, laying in the water too. I love the unique dreamy vibe those photos have, and the experience was interesting and special.
How would you define your personal style?
Black is my happy color, and I like chic, casual clothes that don’t look overdressed yet fit the body beautifully. I love playing with handbags, shoes and sunglasses, yet keep rest of my outfit low key.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up in Jerusalem, Israel. As a young girl I was always a little rebellious with my outfits, leaning more towards the punk rock look, with long hair, tons of bracelets and heavy makeup. I do still have a rock vibe to my style, and band tees will always have a warm spot in my closet.
Who is your style icon and why?
I love getting inspired by many people, but dita von tees is without a doubt a woman I admire. She is always on point, wherever she goes. Not only the outfit, but the hair, makeup and nails are always spot on.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
It is hard to choose one, but there is an extremely talented Israeli photographer called Ella uzan. I love her point of view and soft, interesting photos.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
Create your own personal reality. Work opportunities are out there, but you have to put yourself out there too. Modeling is not my full time job, so for those who want it as their career, getting a good mother agency is critical.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
I edit my photos on Instagram to fit my theme and work nicely together. I like Vsco, snapseed and after light.
We would like to express our gratitude to Shantih Gidron for this great interview.
