How did you fall in love with modeling?
I’ve always been a very creative person, and always enjoyed putting together outfits. Modeling came very naturally after I started my journey of fashion blogging. It has been such an incredible experience so far!
How were you discovered?
Through social media! I actually had one of my photos go viral on Twitter, and Yahoo News published an article about my journey!
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
I think most shoots I do are pretty interesting haha! I incorporate my Indian culture into my shoots and it creates a very unique perspective in every single shoot.
How would you define your personal style?
I would define it as minimal glam! 🙂
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I grew up in a tiny village in Southern India. My style is very much influenced by my roots and where I grew up. I incorporate a lot of my culture and heritage into my personal style.
Who is your style icon and why?
Sonam Kapoor! She’s adds such a unique and special touch to every single one of her outfits. Her confidence and how she carries herself also puts her at the top of my list as a style icon.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
My favorite photographer is my fellow friend and creative, Michelle Khan who is also based in Dallas. She has a truly enchanting way of capturing people and creating gorgeous images. On top of that, she is an incredibly easy person to work with, is extremely talented and overall a true friend to those around her.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
I would tell them to not limit themselves. You may not look or be like everyone else out there, but that is your strength, not a weakness.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
I do occasionally edit my own photos. I use VSCO cam, photoshop and lightroom.
