Vincenzo Gabriele is a travel and nature photographer. He will tell you a story with his great nature photographs.
I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with photography?
It all started about 10 years ago when I got my first digital camera for my birthday. But this would not have been enough if I had not spent so much time and practice on the subject. But for sure what has pushed me to continue was the nature of which I am surrounded, I live in a small mountain village a few kilometers from the national park of sila, and that is why I am surrounded by wonderful places to explore but especially to photograph.
How important is having a unique style as a photographer? How would you describe your style?
I like warm colors, not so much for the tonality itself but because they give everyone hope and arouse emotion in people. And it is for this reason that I wait for special times to take photographs and give it the final touch in post production.
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
Mountains and nature have accompanied me during my adventures, and having grown up around these places I have to say that they have greatly influenced my style of photography.
What advice would you give to aspiring photographers out there?
It is not enough to buy a camera to become good, you have to study a lot but the practice is even more important, so you never lose hope, go out and take lots of photos, learn new things and show them to the whole world.
Have you ever run out of ideas?
Yes, sometimes I run out of ideas, but I am aware that in order to make the most of the brain, it is not enough to sit at home and think, but first you have to go out and explore because the ideas come to you from the moment.
How do you find places and models for your shootings?
I know very well the place where I live and I admit that I pushed a lot further to know every area even if sometimes you run the risk, but all in all if you pay attention it’s worth it. This is why I always look for new and suggestive places to photograph. Give me a green land and a sunset and I’m the happiest person in the world.
What’s the one piece of photo gear you couldn’t live without?
Surely without my DSLR camera would not be the same thing, but I would never give up my wide-angle lens and tripod, are essential for my photos.
Do you edit your photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
Yes, I do post production, and I think it’s essential to give that extra touch to a photograph, but without exaggerating. Post I produce my photos with Lightroom and sometimes I also use Luminar and Photoshop software.
We would like to express our gratitude to Vincenzo Gabriele for this great interview.
