Vishakha Sodha is a beautiful model from Mumbai. I hope you’ll enjoy the interview;
How did you fall in love with modeling?
I have been a child artist and been a part of major brand commercials namely Rasna, Santro, Mcdonalds etc. That marked the start of being in front of the camera and falling in love with it.
How were you discovered?
I am still not completely out there, not ‘discovered’ as such. But the little community I have built on Instagram as an influencer is also because of me being an actor, a live stream VJ.
What’s one of the most interesting shoots that you’ve done?
I cannot name one. It is different every time. It is a creative process, hence the amount of efforts that goes behind planning every shoot is different and something I have never experienced before. I hope it stays that way, or there will be nothing different in the shoots I do.
How would you define your personal style?
Where did you grow up? How have your roots influenced your sense of style?
I have been born and brought up in Mumbai and my dad is into fashion space since the time I was born. So it was a mix of these two that contributed a lot in what I am today in the style space. But off lately, it’s mom who is got better at understanding what would look better on me then dad :p (Sorry dad!)
Who is your style icon and why?
I will never be able to name one person here. Fashion being so creative, I may like someones style today and just hate it the other day.
Who is your favorite photographer and why?
Mohit Varu is doing some amazing work with the influencers right now. I would want to work with him some day. On the other hand, I have not been so satisfied as I am with Sasha who shoots for literally all of my projects. I have kinda settled with her now.
What advice would you give to aspiring models out there?
Be you! Do not copy poses, do not copy style. Take references but just to understand what’s happening around you. Also, do not endorse brands you do not like, even if it is about a huge sum of money. You are influencing a bigger lot out there, who follow you and trust the brands you work with. Never let the power of money over power your choices.
Do you edit your own photos? If yes, which programs do you use?
Not quite often. But whenever I do, I use Facetune.
We would like to express our gratitude to Vishakha Sodha for this great interview.
